Cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan took oath on August 18 as the prime minister of Pakistan. “Those people who have looted the country, I promise that they will be brought to justice,” Mr Khan told parliament after his swearing-in. In his first address to parliament, Mr Khan promised elimination of corruption and black money. “The money that was laundered, I will bring it back – the money that should have gone towards health, education, and water, went into people’s pockets,” Mr. Khan said.
