India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 10-step formula for buttressing the BRICS grouping of emerging powers. The Indian leader’s proposals encompassed a wide spectrum of areas, ranging from business, energy and urbanization to culture and sports. The ten proposals, entitled Das Kadam (meaning Ten Steps, in Hindi) include:
- BRICS Trade Fair
- BRICS Railway Research Centre
- Cooperation Among Supreme Audit Institutions
- BRICS Digital Initiative
- BRICS Agricultural Research Centre
- BRICS State/Local Government’s Forum
- Cooperation amongst Cities in field of Urbanisation
- BRICS Sports Council and Annual Sports Meet
- First major project of NDB to be in field of Clean Energy
- BRICS Film Festival
